As I've mentioned on this blog before the photograph that I have been looking for more than any other is one showing my grandmother Esther's second husband Richard Barrett, alias Frederick Robert Parrott, alias "Uncle Dick" who was the father of Joyce, Nibbo and Billy. I thought recently that I had found one but it turned out I was wrong. How do I know? Well, a genuine picture has been found by cousin Alvin! Oddly, I do remember seeing this picture in my grandmother's house as a child although I had totally forgotten it. I'm not going to reveal the picture yet but save it until I reach that point in the family story or I do a story about the man himself.
Also, I'm pleased to say that Alvin has donated copies of many family pictures with a promise of more in the near future, to the archive I am building. Well, done, Alvin.
I was sure you had a copy of that picture, my mistake, I'll make sure you see any others when I visit in August.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I can't wait to see this elusive photograph, and by the sound of Back of beyond's comment, there may even be more!
ReplyDeleteThere are some real gems. I particularly like one of Arthur Bayliss in his navy "whites" taken in Sydney Australia an a lovely pic of Nibbo taken in Haifa, Palestine.
