 There is a very true saying : "It's not over until it's over" and in the few hours since I finished the previous post I have had to rethink a couple of things because new information has already become available. The first was that my presumption that I had details of Richard Barrett's death proved wrong. The second concerns Richard and Esther's stay on Canvey Island. Based on what Joyce Barrett told me I had believed that her parents had lived on Canvey Island for several years although I was unsure of the actual dates. Evidence now seems to suggest that they did not go to the Island until late 1936 at the earliest. Studying the register of voters in Islington I can now trace their movements between 1930 and 1936.
